About us

Apponequet Junior Football (AJFC) and Cheer is a proud member of the Old Colony Youth Football League (OCYFL). Our mission is to foster the development of responsibility, hard work, sportsmanship, teamwork, and fellowship in a safe and positive environment for our young athletes. We believe that through healthy competition, discipline, and fair play, our players can grow and learn valuable life skills.

At AJFC, we are committed to providing a structured program that educates both participants and parents about all aspects of football. We strive to maintain the highest standards of excellence in everything we do, from coaching and training to providing top-quality equipment and facilities. We rely on the dedication and support of our volunteers, including coaches, board members, parents, and community members, to make our program a success.

If you share our passion for youth football and would like to get involved, we welcome your support. Whether you are interested in coaching, volunteering, or becoming a sponsor, please speak to a coach or a board member to learn more. Thank you for your commitment to AJFC and our community's young athletes.

About Football

Our AJFC football program provides an exciting opportunity for young athletes to improve their physical fitness, develop new football skills, and cultivate important values like teamwork, sportsmanship, and leadership. We believe that we are more than just a team; we are a community that values respect, cooperation, and friendship among all players, regardless of their skill level or background.

The football season begins in August and runs through the beginning of November. We kick off the pre-season with an optional one-week camp session during the first week of August. At camp, our players work on conditioning, learn new football techniques, and get to know one another. They will also be fitted for their uniforms, helmets, and cleats. After camp, practice is held on Monday through Friday from 5:30-7:30 pm. After Labor Day, practices are on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 5:30-7:30 pm.

Our football players are expected to participate in all Saturday and Sunday games (both home and away). Once our league finalizes the schedule, we will share it with our players and their families.

Our football program is held at Long Pond Field (12 Long Pond Rd, East Freetown, MA 02717), where we host our camp, practices, and home games.
